Under the open sky

Unlikely
How do you design a row of villas in Ede, that harmonizes with the beautiful heathland surrounded by trees? That was the customer’s question.
The former 1930s military terrain provided the historical context for the design of these villas. The translation was made through the narrow windows in the front facade at street level, creating an introverted block. The block then opens up to the garden, forming a unified whole with the heathland and forests behind it. The second volume is situated above the lower one but is designed to be more open.
In terms of materialization and detailing, this design perfectly aligns with the wooded surroundings.
