Bewust.
Everyone contributes in their own way to the fight against climate change. We, too, are aware of the impact that our industry, traditionally speaking, has on the climate. Fortunately, we don’t place much value on these traditional methods (except for our Friday afternoon drinks 😉) and are part of a group of companies driven by process improvement and related innovations.
As a design agency, we are the link between supply and demand. This gives us a key position in making our field more sustainable. We guide clients in their decision-making process by offering designs, products, and advice.
The enormous construction challenge that the Netherlands faces is undeniable. Inherent in this are the conditions set by various institutions. Despite this, we are convinced that the realization of new buildings can and must be done in greater harmony with the world around us. As architects, we need to respond more intelligently to what the environment has to offer and use this as the foundation of a design. Knowledge of regulations, material properties, social design, nature inclusivity, etc., is also crucial in a sustainable design. Only by collectively assessing all this knowledge can we ensure that only the essential is realized.
In terms of interior design, we are becoming increasingly confident in choosing conscious options as our knowledge grows. We are building a network of suppliers with the same ambitions and feed each other with the information needed to keep innovating. A win-win situation!
"Ultimately, ‘being more conscious’ doesn't mean less beautiful or more expensive, but rather more creative. Innovation is fun and necessary; the world never stands still."
Besides sustainability, ‘being conscious’ also means designing spaces that contribute to the well-being of their inhabitants, visitors, and/or viewers. Although we spend about 90% of our day in a building, we almost never stop to consider whether they contribute to our well-being.
B-too takes your well-being seriously and challenges standards. Our perspective?
- If the average Dutch person doesn’t get enough exercise, why is the elevator more accessible than the stairs?
- If loneliness prevails, why does everyone have a backyard instead of a front yard where social interaction is easier?
- If loneliness can be reduced by keeping pets, why isn’t a dog flap a standard feature in our home designs?

We are the last to claim that we are already making all the right choices, but we are taking steps in the right direction! You can follow all the lessons we learn about conscious architecture and interiors on this web page or one of our social media channels.
